I've been trying my best to communicate to Cooper what our plans for the day/next day will be. I truly think he gets most of the stuff I tell him these days and he actually seems interested in some of our conversations.
The other night as I was putting him down for bed I told him to sleep tight and that we would be getting up early to go to Mommy's doctor. He replied 'uh-humm, kaaaaaaay'. Which sounds just like the teacher from South Park but that's another post.
The next morning I reminded him of our plans and he starting chanting 'Cuckoo docto, Cuckoo docto, Cuckoo docto over and over. As I've mentioned before, Cuckoo is what he calls himself. He wasn't making any presumptions about our doctor's competence. He was merely stating the fact that Cooper was going to the doctor. Apparently a pretty big deal to him. My hope was that he wouldn't start chanting that in front of the doc. Luckily, he did not.
Later in the day, when we called Mark to tell him how the appointment went, Coop heard me tell his Dad how awesome he did. He got what we were talking about and immediately chanted 'Cuckoo docto' again and again while doing a little Cooper-Went-To-The-Doctor-With-Mommy jig.
I might have some explaining to do if God forbid he ever slips in front of any of the docs. Honestly Doc, I haven't told my child that you're kind of nutso, really I haven't.

You would hope a doctor that deals with kidos has a pretty high amusement and tolerance level for anything that is said in his office. Glad Cooper spared you of having to explain it though....a little easier for you!
i bet the cooper-went-to-the-doctor-with-mommy-jig is pretty damn cute.
Based on this experience you probably shouldn't name your next kid PE-ter or POO-njab.
OKay that last one was somewhat of a stretch, but I couldn't come up with anything else :)
Gretchen~yes, thank-goodness the doc/office is a very kid friendly environment and I'm sure they'd heard it all.
Joanne~Shoot. Good point, I guess I'll have to take Poonjab off the list. And luckily my nephew's name is Peter so we're in the clear there too. Except for when Coop starts calling him by name.
