For about a week now he's given us a solid sleeping shift of 5 or 6 hours straight during the night. I'm not going to make a big deal about it just yet in fear I might jinx things. The timing of these wonderful hours is perfect since it also seems that his older brother has decided that he is entirely too busy to take naps. I'm holding my ground though. We are NOT ready to have no nap days (sorry Cooper).
I'm convinced that we have the Miracle Blanket to thank for these precious hours. It looks much like a baby straight jacket, but it really does keep the little guy from twitching and jiggin' around all night long. We used it with Cooper as well and really thought our boys didn't like to be swaddled at first. But after a little wiggling and grunting, it immediately zonks him out and keeps him from waking himself up with all his jerking. Currently, Cruz still sleeps in our bed in a co-sleeper and I forgot how much sleeping next to an infant is much like sleeping next to a guinea pig. Man, the poor little guy just never stops twitching and grunting thanks to his moro reflex mostly. The Miracle Blanket has made a HUGE difference. Hopefully we can continue to use it for a couple more months until he starts rolling over and becomes better at self soothing.
So that's what's up with Little C. Down the road when I want to remember what it's like living with a 2 month old, I'll remember that he smiles, sleeps in a baby straight jacket and gets cuter and cuter by the minute. Here are some pics to prove it.
