I think we might have a future Thespian on our hands.
It's no secret (as I've posted many times before) that Cooper loves tv. What he loves even more than tv, is reenacting scenes from some of his favorite shows. His memory is amazing. I truly believe it has helped with his blossoming vocabulary. Which by the way, has exploded lately. I can have full on conversations with the little dude and I LOVE it. He'll recite dialogue from a show and play out the scene as if he's on stage. I need to try and capture some of this on video because it cracks Mark and I up every time he does it.
Lately, he's invited me into some of his scenes. I'm lucky enough to make a cameo appearance in his little world. Here's a short scene from a new show he's obsessed with, Dino Dan:
Cooper (playing the part of Dino Dan): "Mom, what is the dog barking at?" (He'll run up to me and wait for a reply)
Me (playing the part of Dino Dan's Mom): "I don't know, maybe the neighbor's cat."
Cooper: "Let me go check" (as he runs to the front door to look for the neighbor's cat---imaginary of course because we don't have any visible neighbors).
Me: "Hurry up, and don't be late or miss the bus, you have music class today."
Cooper: "Ok Mom, I won't"....as he grabs his french horn and runs across the room to catch the bus (we don't own a french horn so he uses a dump truck that he tucks under his arm).
End Scene.
Cooper is very persistent and insists on rehearsing this scene several times a day. I think we've rehearsed it about 10 times just this morning alone. He is tough. I'd hate to be his understudy. He's very dedicated to perfecting his craft.
